Dressing Gown

Collectie

Dressing Gown
These coats with floral motifs are made of chintz, a hand-painted fabric from India. All three are status symbols that were designed for outward display. They were, however, used for different occasions. While the two dressing gowns were mainly worn indoors by men, the wentke (the white-blue coat) was worn outdoors on feast days by women of the town of Hindeloopen in Friesland.
